Educational Workshops
Description
At least once quarterly, MHA provides free health education workshops to the community at-large. The workshops are typically scheduled for one hour and take place in the early evenings. The location of each workshop is rotated among venues across our Service Area and feature a variety of medical, holistic and dietary professionals who provide education on different topics, such as hypertension management, cholesterol management, alternative/holistic medicine (acupressure, acupuncture, Ayurveda, etc.), nutrition, exercise and physical activity, and cooking sessions. Workshops are held in-person and virtually.
Upon request, MHA will provide free workshops to specific groups (service organizations, church groups, or businesses). If interested in having MHA host a workshop for your group, please contact us at (707) 412-3176 x102 or email [email protected]
In addition, MHA works collaboratively with Redwood Coast Medical Services to host the monthly Healthy Habits workshop, which is offered on the first Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in Gualala. This is an in-person workshop that is free to the community and held during the months of April through December.
Note: Healthy Habits has been put on hold temporarily in accordance with the Mendocino County Public Health orders for COVID-19, which indicate that gatherings of larger than 6 are currently not permitted. However, MHA is still providing health education workshops virtually through Zoom.
