Carolyn Hand is a board-certified OB/GYN nurse practitioner and addiction medicine specialist with more than 30 years of experience in women’s health and community medicine. Raised on the Northern California coast, she has dedicated her career to serving women and underserved communities with compassion and expertise.
After earning her Bachelor’s Degree in nursing from San Francisco State University and Masters in Nursing from Holy Names in Oakland, Carolyn spent a decade working as a labor and delivery nurse before becoming an OB/GYN nurse practitioner. Her career has encompassed high-risk obstetrics, community health clinics, women’s health services, and medication-assisted treatment for substance use disorders. Since 2017, she has been part of Redwood Coast Medical Services, where she provides both women’s health care and addiction medicine.
In addition, Carolyn serves with Mendonoma Health Alliance’s Mobile Health Clinic, delivering essential care directly to the community.
Outside of her professional life, Carolyn enjoys hiking, biking, swimming, reading, cooking, and spending time with her family—especially with her first grandchild in Oregon.
