Lani Bouwer has called the Mendonoma area home for nearly 13 years and is excited to serve the community she deeply cares about as a Medical Assistant with Mendonoma Health Alliance (MHA). She has volunteered with both the North Sonoma Coast and South Coast Volunteer Fire Departments since 2017 and earned her EMT certification in 2018.
Originally from Colorado and North Carolina, Lani holds a BFA in Photography from Pratt Institute. Over the past decade, she has worked in farming, landscaping, and gardening—fields where she found joy in nurturing and supporting growth. Her volunteer service with the fire department, along with her work at COVID testing and vaccine clinics, sparked a passion for helping others and ultimately led her to pursue a career in the medical field. Inspired by MHA’s meaningful impact, she joined the team to deepen her ability to serve the community.
Outside of work, Lani enjoys spending time with her friends and her girlfriend, caring for her dog and two cats, creating art, traveling, growing food, and foraging.
